Last Monday, the girls and I and Uncle David headed down to DC to visit Rebecca and go to the zoo. The girls were excellent on the drive down! Alison fell asleep about an hour after we left, and before she fell asleep she was just playing around and babbling and clapping her hands. Lauren watched a Hannah Montana video the entire time with the headphones on! It was perfect! When got to Rebecca's in about 2 hours and she made a yummy lunch of pasta, salad and lemon chess pie (with homemade pie crust none-the-less)! Then we headed to the zoo, which is a short drive from Rebecca's. We stayed about an hour because Alison was getting sleepy, so we only saw about 4 or 5 animals, but that was pretty perfect. They have built an entire new exhibit for the panda bears since we were there last, so that was neat! And we saw some flamingos, half of who were making lots of noise and the other half were asleep on one leg with their head tucked in their body. We also saw elephants and lions. It was fun to see Rebecca and the animals! Lauren was having a great time at the zoo helping me push the stroller...she was doing a good job pushing in by herself, but not so good at steering.
