Nana and Papa's visit-July 4th!

Nana & Papa came to visit for about a week and they were here over the 4th of July!  The girls were so excited to see them that they snuck into the guest room (with several books and buddies) to wait for them to get here....Brad and I had NO IDEA!  Once they finally got here (after having to do a tour of downtown Louisville!), the girls came out and said "Surprise!!"  They were so happy to see them!

Crafting!!

We had a great visit.  Nana brought each of the girls a box plus more of craft stuff, so they spent a lot of time crafting while Nana was here.  Papa and Brad golfed one day, and Nana took Lauren to get a pedicure.  We took them to Lake Forest to see the fireworks.  Papa, Brad and I went to Captain's Quarters one night to get a drink.  Mum Mum and Sarah watched the kids for us one night and Nana, Papa, Brad and I went to Mojito's and had a fabulous tapas dinner!

The girls had a good time playing with the Miis on the Wii, and for some reason, they had the best time changing around Papa's mii and they kept making him have long hair and started calling him "DUDE!"  It was pretty funny!

The 4th of July was our first big celebration at our house, and it was great to be able to host the family at our house finally!  The Mauzys, Bob & Glen, Mum Mum, Nana & Papa were all here.  We ate some yummy food, and then Lauren wanted to play with the water balloons that Nana had brought, but they kept popping before she got wet, even though she was all ready with her bathing suit on.   Anne brought her Hawaiian Ice Shaver and the girls enjoyed some sno cones (and it was SO hot so it was perfect.)  We went over to Anne & Charlie's house for dessert and to watch the fireworks.  This year was the first year that Lauren was amazed rather than scared of the fireworks, and they were pretty amazing!  Alison got a little scared towards the end, but I think part of it was that she was so tired since they didn't even start until about 10 PM!!  It was a great celebration of our country's independence!
