July highlights...the zoo and music camp and Ali camp

Here's a recap of a couple things we did the rest of July...

Little Drew just chillin!

The kids and I met Anne at the zoo for the morning, it was a great time and the kids really enjoyed it! I took the sit and stand stroller, which was great because I was able to push all three kids at once.  (It was definitely a workout, but for sure the best option.)  One of the first animals we saw was the giraffes, and there was a new baby giraffe.  The mom, dad and baby giraffe were inside, but the mom and baby giraffe were on one side and the dad giraffe was on the other side, and Alison said "The daddy giraffe was on the other side because he put the baby and mommy giraffe in time out!"  Funny one, I think the daddy giraffe was probably in timeout!
Ali and her Miss America wave

My girls on the carousel
We saw the elephants, who were doing some tricks, then the gorillas who were pretty funny!  We played on the playground for a little but and then we stopped and had some lunch.  On the way out, Aunt Anne treated the girls to a carousel ride.  I wasn't so sure how Alison would do because the last time we went on a carousel, she was pretty scared, but she had a good time because she sat on an animal that didn't move.  She was funny because she waved to Anne and Drew everytime we came around and saw them, it was like her Miss America wave.  We had a great time, and it was great in the afternoon because all three kids were asleep at the same time for about an hour!

The end of July, Lauren did music camp at St John's, which is the church we have been attending.  It was Mon-Fri 10-1 and included lunch everyday.  Lauren was hesitant at drop off everyday, but she was always happy to see me when I picked her up each day.  The did a show called "Jonah's Druthers," a show about Jonah.  It was a really cute show, and completely amazing that all these kids learned an entire 45 minute show with about 10 songs, lines and dances in just a week!  They had one performance on Friday night and then they did the entire show again on Sunday during church.  They all did a great job.  Lauren received a CD with all the songs on it and the girls love to put on the CD and dance.  Alison has done a pretty good job of learning all the dances, too.  It was a western theme, so all the kids wore jeans (although not Lauren because she doesn't like jeans!  but she did wear denim leggings.)

Alison ready for camp!
The last few days of July, Alison went to camp at St John's where she will be attending preschool this week!  She is familiar with it since we have been going to church there, but I wanted her to get used to being there for several hours.  She did awesome with drop off, except the second day she was a little hesitant.  They always played in the water and had popsicles at the end of the day each day, and that was her favorite part for sure!  They made some really neat crafts, and I think she enjoyed it.  It was her first time going off somewhere all by herself so it was kind of different to have just Drew and Lauren, but I am glad she was able to go.
