We were home for about 24 hours and then we loaded up the car again and headed down to Virginia to see Granddaddy and Grandma Connie. We ran into a lot of traffic on Friday on the way down and it took us about 6 hours to get there. Lauren was a great traveller, though! she watched a movie and she even wore the headphones so Brad and I were able to listen to the Cubs game while she watched! We met Gdaddy and Connie at Chili's for dinner and then headed back to the condo. They gave her a Hannah Montana purse that she LOVES!!
Saturday was a beautiful day, so we headed to the pool! Lauren actually spent more time in the big pool than the baby pool since Daddy was there to hold her. She was laying on her stomach while Brad was holding her and kicking her legs and then Daddy was throwing her up in the air! After the pool she played on the playground for a while and then we headed back for lunch. Lauren and I spent the afternoon together while the other three played golf. We had a great time! We went to the grocery to pick up a few things (oh, how I miss Kroger!!), and then we went to the playground for about an hour. She had a great time swinging and sliding. She made a new friend and they were having a great time going down the slide together. They got back from golf around 8:30 and of course she was still awake, so we all just hung out until bed time.
Sunday, we went back to the pool but it was a little bit overcast and Lauren was more interested in playing on the playground, so we did that for a little bit and then headed back for some lunch. While we were at the pool, she was very interested in this lady who was making bead bracelets, and the lady made one for Lauren! It was so nice!! After lunch, Lauren decided she wanted to sit on the patio and read her book, so we sat out there and did some reading. Brad and Gdaddy played 9 holes of golf and Lauren and I both got a much needed nap!! Sunday night, Brad and I went to dinner and then played mini golf.
Monday morning, we all headed to the playground, and Lauren had more fun swinging on the swings, sliding and throwing rocks into the river (which is really just a creek!).
It was a great visit with Granddaddy and Grandma Connie and the trip home only took a little over 4 hours and Lauren slept almost half that time.
We are all happy to be home and sleeping in our own beds! And now we are getting ready for a visit from the Carlsons and Nana & Papa next week!!
