Trip to Nashville

We ventured south to NashVegas this weekend to visit the family. It was a great time, but too short as usual!

We forgot our stroller! It wasn't that bad...Lauren actually did pretty well walking by herself through the airport. She wore her own backpack, too. And she was able to help pull the suitcase to the car.

We arrived Friday night around 8, and Lauren was excited to see Granddaddy and Grandma Connie. She was excited to have her own room (and so were we!!), and she even slept fine in the crib. Saturday morning, we got up and had some breakfast and then we headed to Loveless Cafe to see Uncle David after his half-marathon. GeGe joined us as well for some YUMMY Southern cooking. Lauren had pancakes that she loved! After lunch, we headed to the Red Caboose Park to see Sallie and Anna and Elizabeth stopped by for a few minutes, too! Lauren had a great time climbing, swinging and making music. Then we went back to Granddaddy's and played. She had a great time playing with Uncle David and Blair. And then she fell asleep in my arms at about 5:30!! The Asburys joined us for dinner, and it was great to see them.

Brad and I left to go to the Dave Matthews concert at Vanderbilt Stadium (thanks for the tickets Elizabeth!), and it was SO perfect. It was a beautiful night, Dave played great songs, and we had the perfect seats for us (they were in the VERY last row so climbing up to the seats was not so fun, but there was no one around us so we could sit the whole time with our feet up). We definitely needed that, it had been too long since we had a date! And we ran into Jon Fossitt and John Sheldon, which was totally random!! We left the show as they were finishing up the last song and we were waiting on the corner for Elizabeth and Allen and all the buses drove by!!! It was so cool because all the band members were sitting up in the front of the buses so they could save to the fans. They must have literally walked off the stage into their buses. Pretty neat!! I think Grandaddy and Connie had an interesting time waking Lauren up from sleeping, but then they watched the Wiggles, so I am sure they all had a great time!

Sunday, we went to church and I think Lauren had a good time despite the fact that she started crying before we even got to the door of her room! They had Cheetos, so that was a good point for me to slip out. For lunch, GeGe, Robert and Judy came over to Granddaddy's house for a YUMMY lunch! It was great to visit with all of them. Lauren had a great time playing outside, and then she helped Connie water all her flowers. Brad had to leave to come back home Sunday afternoon, and Lauren & I came back this afternoon. It was a great trip!
