We first celebrated her birthday on August 2 because Mum Mum was here, and then Granddaddy came up for her actual birthday, which was so fun and then we celebrated in South Haven last week! So, it was like one long birthday celebration (for both of us!)
For her birthday on Saturday, we opened presents throughout the day so she could play with things for a while before she opened another one. And of course, she liked the wrapping paper and boxes more than the actual presents, but Lauren had a great time playing with all of them! The first thing she opened was a drum set, and Lauren put it over her head and said "Look, I'm a marching band!" And Alison and Lauren had a great time making music together. The girls both had a great time with Granddaddy being here! And Alison enjoyed her cake...she more icing than cake I think and definitely didn't like having the icing in her fingers. And I put the piece of cake on a plate and she dumped it in her lap (so, note to self, don't give Alison a plate anytime soon!)
Then on Sunday, Rebecca came up from DC and we had lunch at Applebee's and then came home and hung out and then Rebecca made dinner for us, which was so yummy! We were able to celebrate the three August birthdays, which was super fun!
In South Haven, we had a joint celebration for me and Alison, and all the kids got cupcakes and the grown-ups got pound cake! It was a little chaotic opening presents because all the kids wanted to help Alison open her presents, but it was fun to continue the celebration!
Here's Alison's stats at 12 months:
Height: 29 3/4 inches (75th percentile)
Weight: 21 lb 12 oz (50th percentile)
And as of this week, she is officially drinking milk out of a sippy cup! Hooray! And eating only table food!!
