LAUREN

It has been two months since Lauren turned 5, and I haven't done a post with her stats yet!

She is 40 lb (54th percentile) and 42 inches (38th percentile), which is right on track with where she should be.  She did great on the hearing and vision tests as well.  And she was so happy that she did not have to get shots this visit since we got her flu shot before Drew was born.

She is such a great big sister.  Alison and Drew love her so much!!  She is such a great help with Drew, always getting burp cloths when he spits up and talking to him when he is fussy, and she and Alison play so well together, and she is always looking out for Alison when she needs something.  She is starting to be a better listener, but she still has her moments!  She is not shy and can make friends anywhere we go.  She loves having playdates with her friends.  She loves her dance class, and she loves to listen to music and play on the computer.  Her favorite game on Daddy's iPad is Fashion World and she gets so excited when she gets coins.

She is going to do something to do with math because she loves to organize and sort things with me.  She organized this box of alphabet books by color and when she cleans up, she has to do things  a certain way so they are neat and organized.  And she is great at remembering birthdates.  The other day, we asked her when everyone in our family's birthday was, and she knew hers, Alison's, Drew's, mine, Sarah's, Annabelle's and Papa's.  She didn't know Brad's, but I don't think she would have known mine if it weren't so close to Alison's!  She completely amazed us with that knowledge!  She has such a great imagination, she can make a game out of almost anything.  Some of her favorite things to do are play cards, do crafts, play games and play with Alison.

She still loves her blankie, but we have a new rule that blankie has to stay home unless we are going on vacation, so she leaves blankie on the window seat so she can wave good-bye from the car.  She also has her lovies, bunny and giraffey that are her two favorite stuffed animals, as well as her Build-A-Bear, Annabelle, that she made at Julia's birthday party last weekend.  She takes great care of them.

She is definitely stubborn like me, but she is also sensitive and compassionate.  She got a GREAT progress report at school, the only thing that needs development is catching (go figure!), and we are so proud of her because Miss Julie said she is a leader in the classroom and makes good decisions and follows directions!  We can't wait to celebrate this weekend!
