LAUREN
Lauren was a busy girl in July! She went to two different camps, one at the high school and the other was VBS at our church. I think she really enjoyed both camps, especially VBS! She has become quite the conversationalist/storyteller. She loves to call people on the phone and tell them all about what she's been doing. I really enjoy hearing what she has to say to everyone.

2. Swimming underwater...she started her swimming lessons in the middle of July, and she is definitely gaining confidence. She has started to swim without her floaties in both of the smaller pools, and she loves to swim underwater. She is doing a great job! In the big pool, she has started swimming short distances with no floaties. Once she figures out how to use her legs to kick, she will be able to swim even further!
3. Kidz Bop....I have been getting a few of the Kidz Bop CDs from the library, and she loves listening to them. She is in the process of earning Kids Bop 20 by staying in her room 10 nights in a row...she has one sticker so far, so it might be a while, but we are hopeful! (And she made Brad and I a sticker chart for when we stay in our bed and if we do it, then we get a trophy.)
4. Grapes and Brown Sugar...for some reason, she decided one day that she wanted to eat grapes and brown sugar, so now that is one of her favorite treats.
5. Counting...she can now count to 100 without help!
| iPad...talking Carl is her favorite game. |
7. The phone...she loves to talk on the phone, but whenever I am talking to someone that she knows, she is always wanting to know what I am talking about and tell them what she is doing.
8. iPad....Brad just got an iPad and Lauren loves to play it of course!

9. Coupons...she loves to clip coupons, just like her Mommy! Whenever I am going through my coupons, she always asks for the expired one so she can clip them. She even has an organizer for her coupons (although hers are not as organized as mine!)
ALISON
Alison is starting to talk in 3-5 word sentences and she repeats pretty much everything she hears! She was in the nursery for VBS since I was teaching, and she had a little bit of a rough time being away from me for 4 hours straight! The last day, she cried when I dropped her off, but she was happy when I went to get her. She is definitely a mommy's girl these days, which is very sweet but tough at times, especially being 6 months pregnant. She is always wanting to lift up my shirt and see her baby brother, but sometimes when we talk about the baby brother, she lifts up HER shirt! Hysterical! She loves to do whatever her big sister is doing, but she is also great at playing by herself. She's still a sweet little thumbsucker.

1. Music...Alison has started to develop the same love for music as her big sister. She is starting to recognize songs when she hears them and know the name of the song and/or the singer. She also is always saying "Who this?" in the car and when we hear music anywhere. It's hysterical when she starts singing along!
2. Singing her ABC's...she can sing almost the entire alphabet!
3. Heartbeep...Brad and the girls come to all of my doctor's appoointments, and she is always talking about hearing the "baby's heartbeep."
4. Opening doors...she has figured out how to work the doorknobs in our house! Uh Oh!
5. Minnie Mouse...she is still really loving Minnie Mouse.

6. Stickers on her face...whenever she finds a sheet of stickers around, they all go right on her face. It's so funny to see her, and she loves to put them on my face, too.
7. Lauren's clothes...she loves to put on Lauren's clothes and her shoes. She can even walk in Lauren's flip flops!
8. "I can!"...Little miss independent likes to let us know when she wants to do it herself, but she will still ask for help if she can't get it right away.
9. Cups...she loves to play with the little plastic stacking cups that we have. She stacks them upside down, though.
10. The phone....she has started picking up the phone when it rings and handing it to me. And then she says "Who is it?" And if it's someone she knows, she says "Say hello!" She will be having conversations before we know it!
11. Magnets..she loves to take all the magnets off the fridge and put them on a cookie sheet to make magnet cookies.
