Top Ten Plus for March and April!

So, I am a little behind in blogging the top tens...March and April went by in a flash, as I am sure May will as well!  The girls are loving to play together, and thankfully we are able to get outside a lot as well, which is good for everyone!  They do have the occasional argument if they want the same thing (usually over Victoria, since Alison LOVES her and it's really Lauren's baby doll), but they can usually resolve the issue with a little help.    Lauren is getting more and more independent and she just amazes me with what she knows and can do by herself!  And Alison is so cute talking, she will repeat just about anything and she is starting to put two to three words together.  We can probably understand about 75% of what she says.  But sometimes I will ask her a question and she says about 10 words, all of which are complete jibberish!

Lauren's Top Eight (it's harder for her these days because her interests are staying more consistent!)
1. Zippers....Back in March before we went to Florida, she learned how ti zip her zippers all by herself.  She was so proud!  And so were we!

2. Summer clothes....she was so excited when we went to Florida and we were able to get down all of her summer clothes.  She has some really cute dresses, and I hope she will wear them!

3. Cutting...this girl could sit and cut for hours! She is really proficient with her little scissors, which is amazing.  And what is pretty amazing is that she has never tried to cut her hair (or Alison's either), thank goodness.  (Hopefully I didn't just jinx myself!)

4. Reading...she still loves to read, and she is starting to recognize more and more words.

5. Lemonade Mouth...The Disney Channel is always over-advertising things, and this movie is one that they advertised on both on the TV and the radio.  It kind of reminded me of the Breakfast Club (just the story line), and it was starring one of the girls from Good Luck Charlie, so Lauren wanted to watch it.  It was cute and the music was good, but a lot of the material was way over her head, but she remembered at least three of the names of the characters and loves the music when they play it on Radio Disney.

This look I call "Punky Brewster!"
6. Good Luck Charlie....another show on the Disney Channel, but it has a little girl "Charlie," who is about Alison's age.  Lauren likes to play  Good Luck Charlie with her Barbies at night after we put her to bed.  She gets on brown-haired Barbie, a blond Barbie and Ken and takes their pants off and puts them to bed...I am not so sure what the pants off is all about, but it's pretty funny.

7. Molly & Emily...her imaginary big sisters.  If you remember, Molly was her imaginary friend, and now she has also invented Emily and they are both her big sisters, so we have four girls in our family!

8. High heels...she was so excited about her shoes that I bought for her Easter outfit because they have high heels.  She has worn them almost every day since Easter.  Brad took her to school the day after Easter, and her friend Julia was also wearing high heels, and Lauren was very excited about that!

9. T-Ball....so Lauren is playing instructional t-ball, and Brad is helping with coaching.  So far, she has had one practice that was freezing cold and she threw the ball one time and then she was ready to go!  I hope she will do a little more this weekend since the weather will be better, but she just may not be into it!

Alison's Top Sixteen (Remember, this is for two months!)
1. Cleaning Up...Alison is my little cleaner, it's great!  She will find trash on the floor and put it in the trashcan without even being asked, and she is good at helping to clean up at the end of the day.  She is usually a more willing participant than Lauren.

2. Bows....she is starting to ask me to put bows in her hair.  Not that she keeps them in, but she is pretty specific about which bow she wants usually.

3. Surprise!....she has started to come around the corner and say "Surprise!"  I love the way she says it, and she gets this huge grin on her face whenever she says it!

She has her cat in her hand here.
4. Cats...she has this little plastic cat that came with one of Lauren's barbies that she is obsessed with, and she carries it with her pretty much at all times.  So, she always has her hands full with at least her baby doll, this cat and sometimes one other thing.

5. Tea parties...she loves to get out the little plastic tea set and have a tea party.  She always gives me the yellow cup, and Brad the blue cup.

6. Collecting....every once in a while, she will go ahead and gather all kinds of random things and just make a pile of them in the middle of the floor.  Ususally it's at least a couple of baby dolls, then some bottles, and some other little toys.  I remember Lauren doing the same thing, it's pretty cute!

7. Shoes...she is obsessed with shoes!  She mostly tries to wear Lauren's shoes, which is perfect becuase they are just the right size, but she has worn my shoes and Brad's shoes as well.

8. "Row, Row Row Your Boat"...we sang this song in her music class, and the kids were supposed to sit on the mom's lap facing the mom and sing the song, which she never wanted to do in class, but now she will do it about 10 times!  She will just say "Again" when you are finished singing it.

9. Ice cream...boy does she have a sweet tooth!  Pretty much as soon as we get outside, she says "Ice cream," and she will go stand at the corner where the kids wait for the ice cream man.

10. Colors...we are starting to teach her colors.  She is pretty good with Froot Loops picking them out.

11. Saying the blessing at dinner...she will put her little hands out for Brad and I to grab her hands and then Lauren will say the blessing and Alison gets so excited!

12. The Wiggles...Alison has just started to really like the "iggles," we are even listening to the CD in the car.

13. Cantelope...I have gotten a couple of really good cantelopes at the grocery the past couple of weeks and Alison just eats it and eats it and eats it.  I am so glad because it's good for her.

14. Ketchup...I just gave her ketchup last week to have with her chicken nuggets, and now she is obsessed!  She is pretty good about dipping her nuggets in it and not making too much of a mess.  And whenever I open the fridge, she sees the ketchup in the door and says "Ketchup!"

15. Crossing her arms...she has started to cross her arms.  It's so adorable how she does it!  And it makes her look like she has such attitude.   Brad will cross his arms, or put his chin in his hand or something like that after dinner and Alison will do whatever he is doing.

16. Dressing her babies...she has figured out how to open the suitcases that hold all the baby clothes, and she likes to pick out dresses to put on each of her babies.  And then a little bit later, she wants the clothes off.  I think her babies are naked more than they are clothed!
