October was a busy month, full of fall activities, a trip to Michigan, fall break and of course Halloween!!! Fun times!

Beautiful butterfly face painting
Lauren had her first kindergarten field trip to Gallrein Farms, where they learned all about pumpkins. I was not able to go because my baby-sitter Mum Mum was off enjoying Italy! But Lauren had a great time with her friend Emma and her mom. (There were lots of parents that went because each parent had two kids!) And that night was the fall festival at Lauren's school! Brad, Lauren and I went since Alison had the stomach flu. (Thank goodness Nana and Papa were here!) Lauren had a great time, her favorite thing was the face painting, which was amazing, and playing the playground. She did run into several of her friends from her class and also from her bus.

Fun tire swing!
We went as a family to Foxhollow Farms. They had an awesome hay castle, a hayride and of course pumpkins! They also had a really cool swing set.

Me, Lauren and Samantha
Lauren and I went to the American Girl fashion show tea party downtown. It was cute, they had fashions for all the historical characters, as well as McKenna, the doll of 2012. At the end, Lauren went up and got McKenna's autograph, she was so excited!

Alison also had her first trip to the pumpkin patch at Foxhollow Farms, which Drew and I went on as well. It was cute to see Alison with her school buddies and of course the highlight of the trip for her was riding on the bus!! She picked out a pumpkin, we went on a hayride and they learned all about chickens, although we stayed away from the chickens to avoid an allergic reaction.
We took a trip to Michigan so Brad and I could go to the Michigan-Michigan State game. (It had been 2 years since I went to a game so it was good to be back in the Big House!) Thanks to Mum Mum who came along to watch the kids while we went to the game with Nana and Papa. It was a great trip!!

REady for the park
Then the following week, Lauren and Alison had the week off for fall break. It was 80 degrees almost the whole week, so we went to the park and played outside and then we went to All About Kids one day too. The girls also both spent the night at Mum Mum's house one night, and it was so quiet here! The day that we went to the park, the girls dressed exactly the same, it was cute because Lauren was so excited to be dressed the same as Alison.
We decorated foam pumpkins one night and then the next night, we carved our pumpkins. Brad is the best Daddy ever and carved Lauren's to look like the Lucky Charms leprechaun!
Halloween was fun in our new neighborhood! Lauren was a "can-can dancer," Alison was Rapunzel, and Drew was a lion (the costume was made by Granny for my cousin Christian about 18 years ago!) Drew walked around with us for a little bit but it was kind of cold for him, so he stayed home with Anne & Charlie for a bit until bedtime. The girls lasted longer than I expected and they actually walked pretty much the whole time. Lauren saw several people from her bus and was scared of anything that made noise as she walked past it. We had a LOT of trick or treaters because we gave away about 9 bags of candy! The girls had a good time sorting out their candy with Anne & Charlie and handing out candy to the trick or treaters. The funniest was when a big group of teenage boys came to the door, several them wearing president masks, and Lauren opened the door and she completely froze and then Alison said "You guys look scary!"
