Christmas 2012

We had an awesome Christmas this year!  And since we are close to all the family, we celebrated with everyone, which meant we had FIVE Christmas celebrations!  And with the kids, that is the best way to do it so they don't get overwhelmed.

We went down to Nashville about 10 days before Christmas, just for the day, to celebrate with Granddaddy, Grandma Connie and GeGe.  GeGe catered the meal from the Puffy Muffin (of course!) for the adults and Chick-Fil-A for the kids.  She really enjoyed seeing the kids, and Lauren was so sweet to her!  She gave her a big hug when she first saw her and she was telling her all about school and Christmas.  It was super sweet.  Alison was a little more hesitant, but she did give her a hug and Drew was very intrigued.  We had a great visit, and it's nice to know that we can make the trip to Nashville just for the day if we need to.

GeGe got a big kick of out them!

The weekend before Christmas, we went to Frankfort to celebrate with Bob, Glen and Rebecca!  They prepared a nice meal for us (and they just got back from skiing!), and the girls had a great time playing with the old Little People and Duplo blocks and Brio train from Katie and Rebecca.  Drew's favorite place to sit was in the rocking chair.  And then they had a great time playing Just Dance 4 with Uncle Bob on the Wii!!  We missed seeing Katie and Josh, but we look forward to seeing them in March.

Christmas Eve, we went over to Mom's house for brunch and the Mauzy's and Andi came over as well.  The girls LOVED Andi and Christian of course!  It was fun to see all of them.  The girls got to sit at their own table for brunch.  We were able to use some photo booth props to make some funny pictures.  Mum Mum and Lauren worked on a little reading of the Christmas story, so Lauren and Alison (with Andi as the director), read all of us the Christmas story.  We went to church for the Children's program, which was really cute and amazing that the kids learned the whole show in about 2 days.  Lauren was a little perturbed that she didn't get to participate, but there's always next year.  At the end, when they did the candles, I was so nervous that Alison was going to light her hair, dress or the church on fire.  She was very interested in the light from the candle.

Silly!

Cuties!!

Success!  A good family photo

We had a nice Christmas Eve dinner (mostly prepared by Mum Mum, thank you!) and then we put Drew to bed (he was SO tired from not napping much), and then the girls went to bed pretty quickly.  I think they were worn out too.

Christmas morning, Lauren came in our room at 6:15 and she was very distraught because her earring back had fallen off, but she laid in our bed until about 6:45 and then she got Alison up and they were so excited to see what Santa brought them!  Lauren said when she came in our room "I think Santa brought Drew a train table!"  Alison was so excited for all of her Rapunzel stuff, and Lauren immediately changed McKenna's clothes into one of the outfits from Santa. Drew got up not much later, and he was excited about his train table.  Then we did stockings and then had breakfast.  Alison requested pancakes!  Then we opened our presents.  Alison immediately put on her Wonder Red outfit, hat and all and had to go upstairs to find her word bag.  Lauren was excited for her Lego Friends sets (Thank you Uncle David and Aunt Blair!)  They both also really loved to Wii Disney Dance Party, and Alison wore this Rapunzel outfit for most of the day.  The Lewis' and the Mauzy's stopped by for a little bit and it was so great to have the opportnuity to see so many family members on Christmas Day!!!
